Principle:
                     (D-malate dehydrogenase)
(1) D-Malic acid + NAD⁺ → pyruvate + CO₂ + NADH + H⁺

Method:                             Spectrophotometric at 340 nm
Reaction time:                   ~ 6 min
Detection limit:                  0.26 mg/L
