Colourimetric method for the determination of D-3-Hydroxybutyric Acid in foodstuffs
Principle:
(3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase)
(1) D-3-Hydroxybutyrate + NAD+ ↔ acetoacetate + NADH + H+
(diaphorase)
(2) INT + NADH + H+ → NAD+ + INT-formazan
Kit size: 60 assays (manual) / 600 (microplate)
/ 740 (auto-analyser)
Method: Spectrophotometric at 492 nm
Reaction time: ~ 3 min
Detection limit: 0.20 mg/L
Application examples:
Egg, egg products (e.g. egg powder) and other materials (e.g. biological
cultures, samples, etc.)
