Hyaluronan Gels are recommended as a starting point for building extracellular matrix and optimization of a cell’s microenvironment. Hyaluronan Gels can be combined with other extracellular matrix components such as collagen.
Hyaluronan (also known as sodium hyaluronate or hyaluronic acid) is a polysaccharide composed of repeating disaccharide units of N-acetyl glucosamine and glucuronate linked by β 1-3 and β 1-4 glycosidic bonds. Hyaluronan is a physiological substance that is widely distributed in the extracellular matrix of connective tissues in both animals and humans. For example, it is present in the aqueous humor of the eye, the synovial fluid, the skin and the umbilical cord.
Ready-to-Use
Hyaluronan Gels are ready-to-use, sterile gels that are provided in easy-to-use syringes. These products can be applied directly into a culture system without additional formulation or sterilization.
Flexibility
Hyaluronan Gels are provided in a variety of packs for flexibility to the researcher who wants to use varying concentrations, viscosities, and molecular sizes of Hyaluronan.
- Concentration: Available products span concentration of 1% and 3.0%.
- Viscosity: Products supplied with varying viscosities of 6,000 cps and 45,000 cps.
- Molecular Weight: The molecular weight of the Hyaluronan products are ~750,000 da. and ~1,300,000 da.
- Products are provided in an easy-to-use syringe for a variety of applications.
Applications
3-D Cell Culture - Hyaluronan Gels provide a basic scaffold component for 3-D cell growth. Hyaluronan Gels are recommended as a starting point for building extracellular matrices and optimization of a cell’s microenvironment. Hyaluronan Gels can be combined with other extracellular matrix components such as collagen.
Purity and Lot-to-Lot Consistency
Hyaluronan Gels sold and provided by Advanced BioMatrix for research uses are produced in large batches under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Therefore, products are extremely pure and are consistent from lot-to-lot due to the process controls in place.
